Haven’t had much time to update on portfolio performance since start of the year. Been pretty busy with my new job since Feb. Thankfully, I’m getting the hang of it and I’m at the tail end of my heavier project although also at the start of another big project for next year. Going forward, will probably have to keep these updates short and sweet. Let’s get into it.

Family Retirement Portfolio (FRP)

FRP is outperforming this year to-date. I’m glad the hard work I’ve put into structuring this portfolio has enabled it to capitalise on the bull market while keeping risks manageable. There’s a bit of work to be done when allocations get out whack so it’s not completely passive but the urgency to rebalance is not high so I can do it within the week.
I’ve taken the chance during this bull market to do some housekeeping, closing out some odd lots to reduce the number of positions and trimming some positions that have run up too much. I’ve been trying not to trim winners as much as possible until they throw the portfolio out of balance by too much (typically $5-10k).
Finally sold off odd lots in FLCT, Ascott REIT and OCBC. Not sure whether I didn’t notice in the past, but I’ve only just realised that SC Online Trading platform can sell odd lots.
Most of the positions that have run up ahead of our ETFs were tech stocks. So in Q3, I’ve trimmed Palantir, Nvidia, Microsoft, Apple and Tesla. Besides that also trimmed some DBS. All were trimmed in Aug, no other sales since then.
No change to the usual RSP into ETFs on FSMOne into VWRA, QQQ, ARKK and HST, despite the higher prices.

In terms of cash allocation, this portfolio is currently sitting at 16.8% cash. I’m at max cash allocation of 15% since markets are at all-time highs +1.8% for SSB rates adjustment.

Personal Trading Portfolio (PTP)

PTP is also outperforming the indexes, due to Tesla, Palantir and Nvidia all outperforming. Since last update, I’ve sold off Google and added a speculative position in Boeing.
So far in Q3, I’ve only been actively trading in and out of Tesla. Since the run-up in mid-Sep, I’ve been trimming quite a bit. I’m prepared for any pullback to add back to my positions. Besides that, I’ve also added to Nvidia and Boeing in Sep.
