Wow March was another rollercoaster month. The ups and downs might have been good for a trader, but tooo bad I ain’t one. Felt a bit nauseous at certain points tbh.
Growth stocks are still depressed and market sentiment is weak mainly due to expectations of rising bond yields.
I admit I got a bit caught up in the FOMO in secular growth stocks earlier in the year. To recap, I started buying more growth stocks in July 2020 when I realised that value and dividend stocks were not as resilient and safe as I thought they’d be.
Since then I’ve been averaging up as growth names continued their steady march upwards. February and March has been a stark reminder on the dangers of getting caught up in FOMO.
I’ve done my research and still believe in the growth names I’ve been buying. In hindsight of course, I could’ve been more patient and got in at better prices. I will just have to wait a bit longer for fundamentals to catch up to valuations.
Family Portfolio
- March performance: +1.5%
- All-time performance: +7.6% (+11.8% including dividends)
- March dividends: S$77 (-66% yoy)
- Bought: ARKK, NVDA, PLTR, SE, ZM, TDOC, SGX:HST
- Sold: SGX:G3B, SGX:CFA
Singapore stocks showed surprising strength, also because the STI is filled with value stocks and benefitted from the growth-to-value rotation. Used the proceeds to buy beaten down US growth stocks and HK tech ETF.
Personal Portfolio

- All-time performance: +13.7% (+19.8% including dividends)
- March dividends: None

Not much action here, just averaging into beaten down Tesla.
Social Portfolio
- March performance: -4.3%
- All-time performance: -0.8%
- Haven’t figured out how to track dividends in eToro
- Check out my eToro account for trade activity: https://etoro.tw/3rLL9tX
Pretty inactive on eToro this month, since I’ve been bargain-hunting growth names on the dip in other portfolios with longer-term view. I mostly use eToro for shorter-term trading and testing out new strategies.
What have you been buying or selling in March? Would love to hear from you.
